Lana - it's like anything else in this world - until you've been there - you know nothing except other people's experience ... and you obviously (as is evident in your posts) haven't actually been there. Quoting what your 'friends' have done is not reality.

Breast-feeding is NOT sexual and most normal people know this instinctively.

I had a similiar experience with my first son - he wouldn't nurse, I was frustrated - he was frustrated - after 6 weeks gave up. SO glad I gave it another try with the second child. I was more relaxed and she could sense it - it was a wonderful experience.

How would YOU like to go through 24 - 48 hours of a baby who wants a breast/ not a bottle screaming? People are so obsessed with breasts as sexual objects - this is a very unhealthy hang-up. Get over it.

To the person who said - just pump in advance and how amusing she found it was that people hadn't thought of this already. What a genius! How clever! You should write a book. Unfortunately, a breast fed baby will often NOT take a bottle (esp. for the first month).
